Fishing on Lake Erie

Fishing on Lake Erie was one of the funnest things my husband and I had done in a while. We have friends that live right on the lake and they invited us to go fishing on their boat with them. I am so glad we took them up on it.

Our kids were going to the grandparents for the weekend so the timing was perfect. We drove up and stayed the night before and got up at blue moon and headed out on the lake.

It turned out to be quite an experience. I must say the fish were quite a lot bigger than what we were used to catching around home and allot harder to real in. The water was not as calm as I thought it would be, but the view was beautiful.

I must say I think the guys got a real kick out of seeing us lady's fishing. The high light was when my friend let her fish drop in the boat and it seemed to chase us around before the guys could catch it. They didn't seem to mind our screaming at all. We were messy but we were having fun.

We caught mostly Pike and Walleye, but also some bass. We packed them on ice for eating later that evening.

I took a moment during that trip to stop look around me, just to take it all in, my husband was telling one of his fishing stories and our friends were restocking our bait, I realized what a great world we live in, and what great friends we have.
I now know why people love fishing so much, you are in a whole other world.
