"Where I call Home"
Beautiful Lake Lanier, where I call home. At a very early age my parents would go fishing and we would camp on Lake Lanier. When I grew up the fun continued with boating, skiing, and more camping trips. I always wanted a home on the lake. My dream came true in 1998 when I moved into my little cottage with an awesome eastern view of the lake. The view is especially pretty in the winter time. It feels like we are on vacation all the time.
This lens is devoted to all things fun in and around the lake. Add your information, links, comments, your rating, and be sure and sign our guestbook, especially if you are one of the lucky ones to be a Lake Lanier resident.

Don't go out on the Lake without one!
Elvis has left the building
and Patsy Cline too!
Update on Classic's Pub and Elvis - Before Christmas 2007 the county approached Ms. Kat and made her an offer she couldn't refuse. It was take it or be condemned. So with great fanfare and sadness of almost 20 years, Classic's closed and was torn down for a parking lot for the county. Some of the beloved bartenders and staff can now be found at a nearby restaurant, Austin's, but it's just not the same. However, you will find many of the regulars there and at Good Old Days.
For those who still want to see an Elvis show, the former Lantern Inn has been re-opened and is now Harbor Lights. I haven't personally seen the Elvis show myself so can't make a recommendation, but I'm sure you will find many of the locals and of course the 'lake crowd.' It is one of the few places you can go by boat for a fun time on the lake.
I would still recommend checking out Damon Hendrix, who used to perform at Classic's. Here is "Elvis" website http://damonhendrix.com/index.html. He has his schedule published on the website. You might find another opportunity to go and see him. I am a long time Elvis fan and I've seen many impersonators, and I must say he is one of the best I've ever seen or heard.
