Fascinating Displays in a Fillable Lamp Base
I've seen these in fancy decorating magazines and always wanted one. These fillable lamp bases are wonderful ways to display a collection of seashells, beach glass, marbles, tiny toys from childhood, a matchbook collection or other collectible items.
There are a variety of shapes from the classic ginger jar to a clear glass cube to a mason jar to serve as the base for the lamp. You can fill it with whatever you like best. If you've been hoarding a collection of small things and they are stashed away in a drawer or a shoebox, then you need one of these fillable lamps.
It doesn't even have to be all one thing. Fill your lamp base with an odd assortment of things. People find it fascinating to look at the lamp and see what treasures it holds. (photo courtesy of Amazon)

- How interesting. I used to write dates and occasions on corks to remember them. Never thought of displaying them before.

- What a great idea. Those look really pretty. Maybe they could also be filled with smooth white sand and little rocks.

- I used to have one of these fillable lamps with seashells I had collected at the beach. I don't even know what happened to it, but it was beautiful! :)

- So cool! This makes me want to start hunting for surprising things to put in fillable lamp bases... perhaps some little green army men, or inexpensive toy mice :)

- The only things I have ever seen in these types of lamps are seashells. You have some fun ideas. The matchbook idea is neat. I don't smoke, but it seems that hotels give them out a lot so it would be nice to have a place to put them :) Have a Happy Easter.

- I think I would fill mine with those colored rocks you put in fish tanks. I dig the different colors they have.
