In Love with Glass

If you haven't yet been introduced to handmade lampwork glass beads then now is the time. Each bead, vessel or marble is a miniature work of art. The skill of making a set of beads as uniform as possible, or of creating a one off beauty like the one shown to the left (by Wendy of Guru Creations), is fascinating to watch. The finished products are wonderful to hold and quite addictive.

Australian Lampwork Glass Artists

Australia has some of the best lampwork beadmakers in the world. Some of these are relatively new to the scene. Others have been lampworking for many years. Many of these artists sell their work on etsy as well as their own websites.

I use Australian lampwork beads in so much of my jewellery. Just above and to your right is one of the first beads by Anne Dundas.
