Lance Armstrong is the greatest living athlete in the world. He has won the world's hardest race a total of seven times setting a record that is unlikely to be ever surpassed. What makes this all the more extraordinary is the fact that he suffered from and survived cancer after being given just a slim chance of making it through. The man is a legend for me immortalised a number of times throughout his career. The standout for me was when he crashed on the Col de Tourmalet in the Pyrenees having caught his handlebars in a spectators bag. He mounted his damaged bike and rode off like a man possessed. Little did he know that ahead of him the race leaders had waited as the unwritten code of the peloton dictates when the yellow jersey crashes. Despite this Lance caught the leaders with adrenaline pumping in his veins. He decided to attack once he'd caught them gaining a total of 40 seconds by the finish. It was one of the most incredible sporting achievements I have witnessed. Was this a man on performance enhancing drugs or someone who just trains harder the everyone else around him. Lance deserves his place in history, an athlete to be remembered forever.

- Nike Cycling
- Lance's main cycling sponsor. Good place to check for latest news, movies and other good stuff. And to their great credit one of the sponsors to stick with him throughout his cancer ordeal.
- Discovery Team
- Lance's former team that took over the sponsorship from US Postal. And still home to that great rouleur (sorry George - that was a great victory in the Pyrenees) George Hincapie.
- Lance Armstrong Foundation
- The organisation behind the omnipresent yellow wristbands & worthy of every penny.
- Tour de France
- Check out this year's race. Even without Lance it will be an incredible spectacle.
