The legendary Land Rover

The official Solihull product has fans all over the world and is a true classic.

Here are some tidbits...

1.) The Land Rover's legendary resistance to corossion comes from the use of a unique alloy of Magnesium and Aluminium, known as Birmabright. This was initially used because it was cheaper than steel in the post war years of austerity.

2.) All of the early Land Rovers were painted green - army surplus paint being very cheap in 1948.

3.) In a crash a Land Rover Defender (or Discovery) is three times safer than any Volvo.

4.) According to Top Gear 70% of all Land Rover Series and Defender models ever made are still running today.

Get your Landy covered

Many insurers will cover Land Rovers, but for the best deals you should contact a specialist. They'll probably save you money, but also offer you a policy designed for the Landy, including things like green laning, off-roading, snorkels and mods and big discounts for limited mileage. They'll also be able to get you an agreed valuation, so if your classic Land Rover is in con cours condition, you'll be covered for the true value in the event of a claim. Owners of Ex-Military vehicles, Q-Plates, LHD models and camper conversions will also get much better service from a specialist broker, like those listed below.
