How to Pronounce Right:

Pronunciation is the key to learning a language!

Have you noticed how many foreigners speak your language with a funny accent? Most of them do...

This is because most people start off learning a language from books. Reading the words in the foreign language and then trying to pronounce this new word right. Only that by reading the phonetics, more often than not this pronunciation is far from correct.

After weeks or even months or years of wrong pronunciation, correcting an accent is nearly impossible, and these people will most likely speak with that strange or funny accent for the rest of their lives.

This does not have to be that way: Using a good and well proven audio learning method, you can start off with great pronunciation from start. To learn the 'melody' of a language is very important, and only when you hear the words and phrases spokne by native speakers can you pick up the 'music' of you new language. Learning a language that way makes it much easier for students:

By immediately talking in entire phrases, and learning concepts rather than isolated rules and vocabulary, you will be able to understand and speak the new language very fast. Because you do not get stuck in grammatical rules, but learn entire phrases and role play in different every day situatons, you will be confident to speak from start!

Language - A Definition

Category: File - :Cuneiform script2.jpg|thumb|right|220px|Cuneiform is one of the first known forms of written language, but spoken language is believed to predate writing by tens of thousands of years at least.

A language is a particular kind of system for encoding and decoding information. In its most common use, the term refers to so-called "natural languages" ? the forms of communication considered peculiar to humankind. In cognitive science the term is also sometimes extended to refer to the human cognitive facility of creating and using language. Essential to both meanings is the systematic creation and usage of systems of symbols ? each pairing a specific sign with an intended meaning, established through social conventions.

The most obvious manifestations are spoken languages such as English or Spoken Chinese. However, there are also written languages and other systems of visual symbols such as sign languages.

Although some other animals make use of quite sophisticated communicative systems, and these are sometimes casually referred to as animal language, none of these are known to make use of all of the properties that linguists use to define language in the strict sense.

When discussed as a general phenomenon then, "language" may imply a particular type of human thought which can be present even when communication is not the result, and this way of thinking is also sometimes treated as indistinguishable from language itself. In Western philosophy, language has long been closely associated with reason, which is also a uniquely human way of using symbols. In Ancient Greek philosophical terminology, the same word, logos, was used as a term for both language or speech and reason, and the philosopher Thomas Hobbes used the English word "speech" so that it similarly could refer to reason, as discussed below.

Language is a means to communicate, some forms of language seem to be surprising, but they work:

In My Language

The first part is in my "native language," and then the second part provides a translation, or at least an explanation. This is not a look-at-the-autie gawking freakshow as much as it is a statement about what gets considered thought, intelligence, personhood, language, and communication, and what does not.
