These remind me of middle school projects, instead of a presentation on cardboard or foam, it's a miniature book.

This lens is one of the first few sites I learned a lot about lapbooking. It's very informative and does a great job at getting your started. So, thanks a million!!! =)

Since I've been doing lapbooking in my homeschool, I noticed going to the DollarTree to buy folders and construction paper and BigLots for cardstock was becoming a bit much for me. I recently came across a site called CambridgeMonarch.org and they have these kits called Pocket Lapbooks Kits and it's so much more affordable -- for me anyway, my budget is a bit tight these days -- and it comes with everything I was buying individually at the stores I just named. Oh, and the folders are prefolded as well as in a variety of colors, too. So just thought I'd share.

More valuable information that has already started me on lapbooks. I did purchase three of the Evan-Moor pocket books since we will be going to Missouri and Tennessee this summer and plan to visit some battlefields. Not yet homeschooling but might as well get a head start.

Some great instuction and ideas contained in this lens. I don't know if it is the same thing but I keep an art journal and use collage to make art books, something I very much enjoy as a change from 2-dimensional art.

Wonderful! I had not come across lapbooks before reading about them on Squidoo from yourself and Lynn. I already love to scrapbook and as a child I used to put together books about things I liked, from Robin Hood to horses, so I guess intuitively I have made some without knowing! I will definitely be making these with my daughter when she is older. Favourited and looking forward to exploring more of your lenses!

After first hearing of the concept of a Lapbook on Tobin's Lab website, your lens was the first place I actually saw how to do it. It looked so doable and fun. We have made many since discovering this 2 years ago. Thanks for all your hard work. Your lens was also my first introduction to Squidoo. I have finally taken the plunge and made 3 of my own lenses. Thanks again for your inspiration!

Five stars for your lens! The lapbook pictures are a wonderful edition and really show me what the outcome is like. Our family has homeschooled for 20 years. Lapbooking has become so popular in the last 5 years. My kids were in high school or college before these wonderful illustrations and directions were available. I love the ideas and hope that all you younger homeschoolers will take full advantage of them. I invite you to visit my site at Used Homeschool Curriculum

This is interesting,I've never seen this type of thing before.
It reminds me of what I do in my 'sketchbook'. As an artist I usually have a 'sketchbook' with me and put ideas, rough drawings, bits of fabric, pictures of things I like and notes etc. into it. It is used as a reminder when I get down to designing a piece of art.
Great lens, thank you, glassjubo - allthingsglass

I enjoyed your blog. I had wanted to teach my children how to create lapbooks. I would get bogged down in trying to decide which mini-book to use with which set of information. The picture at the top of your blog inspired me to make a "mini-book sample" lapbook. As my daughter worked on her first lapbook, I showed her the samples, and she chose the mini-books. Now we are going to make a collection of mini-books that will already be prepared for future projects. Any excuse to play - I mean - work with scissors and colored paper :)

I began daydreaming. Primary schools could have a lapbooking project they would carry on to each year. Start with a subject and see what new you could learn each year on that subject and add it to the book. After 5 or 6 years you would have quite the knowledge. The last year all class mates could vote on class lapbook. You could even change your subject just say why the next year. One subject does lead to another like Squidooing.

What a great lens! I have two little ones and my oldest is now three. We are struggling to figure out what would work best for all of us. As my son has a severe language delay he is in a preschool for 2.5 hours a day, however, I am not convinced that this route is the best for all of us.

I need to poke around a little more and see what other resources you have for homeschooling. Mostly at what age I should start. I think these lapbooks are something that would entertain both my kiddos. Thanks for the resource and I apologize for the novel. =)

Jimmie, thank you for your comments on my lens, China's Wild West. I have 17 nieces/nephews (16 nephews!) and this is a wonderful idea! And about that blonde hair... I often say it was a no-brainer, but it wasn't. I agonized over it. Then it happened and I just rolled with it. But cutting and dying my long blonde hair has made for great story telling!
