Over my career as a computer tech and systems admin I have fixed IBM's, Compaq's, HP's, Toshiba's, and Dell laptops. Some are easy to fix, some are time consuming, it really depends on the design and if the design engineer likes techs or dislikes them. One Toshiba I really think a repair tech really ticked of the design engineer, it was a bear to get appart, fix, and put back together.
Laptops require special attention.

Hard Drive full or failed?
SSD??
SSD? Uh, what is it? Solid State Drive. Basicly a flash drive (the same technology as a pen or flash drive but more robust). No moving parts! Less power consumption! 1.5 MILLION hours between failures! Drop it and it doesn't crash!
The only draw back? Expsense, the price of new technology is always high. But with 1.5 million hours before failure and 1500 G force resistance your data will be safer and your laptop battery will last longer.
