Larry Kenneth Robert Walker is a former Major League Baseball outfielder. He is known for both his offense and defense. Larry was a 5 time All-Star, 7 time Gold Glove winner and national League MVP in 1997. He was born in British Columbia, Canada.

A look at Larry Walker 

Larry Walker signed with the Montreal Expos in 1984 but didn't get his first chance at the big leagues till 1989. He put up average numbers with a good batting average some power and good base running during his first few years.

Larry Walker began to show his potential during the 1994 season and was well on his way to a season with 100 or more RBIs. The season however was shortened by a strike. After that season Larry signed with the Colorado Rockies.

In 1995 Larry Walker showed his All-Star form by hitting .301 with 36 home runs and 101 RBIs. He was a major factor in helping Colorado make it to the post season.

In 1997 while still playing in Colorado, Larry had his best season of his career. He hit .366 while hitting 49 home runs and driving in 103 RBIs. He also added 33 stolen bases to those numbers and won the first MVP award ever won by a Canadian.

The following year Larry Walker won the Lou Marsh Trophy as the Canadian Athlete of the year. Larry continue to produce All-Star numbers through his career till health problems began to effect the later part of his career.

Larry Kenneth Robert Walker (born December 1, 1966 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada) is a former right fielder in Major League Baseball. From through , Walker played for the Montreal Expos (1989-), Colorado Rockies (-) and St. Louis Cardinals (2004-2005). He batted left-handed and threw right-handed. Walker announced his retirement after Game 6 of the 2005 National League Championship Series.
