Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal is the revolutionary new treatment for the removal of unwanted hair on the face and body. Hair basically consists of two types: vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hair, better known as peach fuzz is non-pigmented and short. It occurs in body's face's minor parts. Terminal hair is thick, melanin pigmented, and long. Hair from arms, legs, back, and chest falls in this category. It also includes hair on eyebrows, genitals, underarms, and scalp. Terminal hair is targeted by lasers.

The Telogen cycle marks the beginning of production of the new hair. The follicle is quite 'dormant' during this time. Process: Laser Hair Removal takes place through the principal of 'Selective Photothermolysis'. Laser's light energy gets transferred to the thermal energy present in hair follicle. When this heat gets absorbed by melanin, its cell structures get destroyed. Lasers are accompanied by a mechanism of cooling which prevents the damage caused to surrounding cells. All the lasers that are used in removal of hair possess an identical action mechanism. However, there are not only one, but multiple lasers used for treating different patients.
