Laser Skin Tightening

Recently, the introduction of laser technology has been used to tighten the skin. Both monopolar radiofrequency (MRF) and infrared light sources have been introduced for nonablative skin tightening process by volumetric heating of the deep dermis.

The latest advancement in skin tightening by Syneron, the ReFirme, uses a proprietary elos technology, the synergy of light and conducted Bi-Polar Radio Frequency to create the deep thermal heating needed to both shrink and generate new collagen while protecting the epidermis. This combination of modalities results in overlapping light beams penetrating deep into the dermis to a depth of up to 4 mm to pre-heat the target tissue, and the RF energy being drawn to the target. This puts the thermal zone where it is effective for wrinkle treatment, while being gentle on the epidermis.

Typically age is not a factor in determining whether laser skin tightening is right for a specific patient. If the client has skin laxity post pregnancy, saggy skin under the neck or lose skin on the face this treatment should have an outstanding effect. If a client is heavy in an area, the skin tightening laser will not be so effective. Chose patients correctly and you will have happy clients.
