Why Laser?

Laser hair removal has proven to be the best & only real permanent hair removal solution since 1995. Until then, electrolysis was the only method of long lasting hair removal. However it is a more painful & time consuming process than that of laser hair removal which really is the abosolute best way to achieve & keep soft, hairless skin. It eliminates unwanted hair easily, safely, & permanently from the body. Every type of skin tone can be treated.

Think its too expensive? If you pay for any form of hair removal, then think again. Laser hair removal can actually save a woman thousands of dollars in the long run. A woman that spends $15 a month on shaving supplies will end up spending more than $10,000 on shaving in a lifetime. Or if she spends $25 a month on waxing services this will add up to around $23,000 within her life. Laser hair removal can save a shaver around $7,000 & save $20,000 worth of waxing services. Take the time to consider the long term.

Laser hair removal can free up the time that you currently spend on removing hair. Permanently take your mind off that unwanted hair that always grows back & feel fabulous all the time.

How does it work?

A pulse of laser light penetrates the skin & delivers the energy at the root of hair follicles destroying the root but preserving the skin.
The intense Pulsed Laser is a high power laser that allows for larger treatment spots & goes deep enough to ensure effective treatment while the double-pulsing technology allows for preservation of surrounding tissue. A pre-cooling of the skin is monitored & integrated for optimal comfort for the patient.

Does it hurt?
The procedure is not done with anesthesia. Most patients say it is very tolerable, the experience may be a sting or pinch like sensation for no more than 5 seconds after the laser has gone over the treatment area, but it does not hurt to the degree of waxing, tweezing, or hair ripping.

What areas can be treated?
All areas of the body can be treated except for around the eyes.
How long does the treatment take?
It depends on the area of the body. A full face for instance might take about 30 minutes.

Is it safe?
There are complications in less than 1% of cases which would come in the form of skin tightening or darkening.
Fortunately there are few side effects. Treated skin may develop redness & swelling in the first hour of treatment. A cool icepack & aloe vera tends to do the trick. Blistering is rare & also responds to the cooling methods. Permanent scarring is extremely rare. Hypopigmentation can happen to very dark skin (it lightens) or the reverse of hyperpigmentation can happen to very lighten skin (it darkens). Hyperpigmentation will lighten usually in 3 to 6 months. Excessive swelling is also rare but if it happens will subside in 3 to 7 days.
Unwanted hair may be considered a side effect before full treatment.
It is advisable to wear sunscreen for a month on treated areas.

How much does it cost?
Price depends on the overall size of the areas you wish to be treated & on the area itself as well. Subscribe HERE to get a FREE online price consultation. You need to type in the pass code its secret

How many treatments are required?
Several treatments are needed to accomodate hair growth cycles. The hair thickness & location determines how many treatments are needed for effectiveness. Treatments are about 6 weeks apart.

Is it really permanent?
Clincal studies show a permanent reduction of hair in numbers. After each treatment, hair grows back lighter, thinner, & less numerous.

What should I do before treatment?
For optimal results, do not tan or spend much time in the sun 4 to 6 weeks before treatment. This makes burning or irritation less likely during treatment. Hair on the treatment area should be shaved 24 hours before treatment & make sure your skin is clean & makeup free right before your visit. Tell the doctor if you have started taking any medications as they may make burning more likely. Your skin will be evaluated on your first visit & the correct light setting for you will also be determined. This should take 20 minutes or less. You may recieve some "test spot" treatments on a small part of your body.

Laser Hair Removal Pre-Treatment Instructions
1. AVOID THE SUN for around 4 weeks before and after treatment, more or less depending on the particular
2. Your provider may ask you to stop any topical medications or skin care products 3 to 5 days prior to treatment.
3. You MUST avoid bleaching, plucking or waxing hair for 4 to 6 weeks prior to treatment.
The melanin-containing hair must be present in the follicle as it is the "target" for the laser light.
4. Be sure to mention any medications you are on
5. If you have a tan or have a darker skin type, a bleaching regimen may be started 4 to 6 weeks before treatment.
6. RECENTLY TANNED SKIN CANNOT BE TREATED! If treated within 2 weeks of active (natural sunlight or tanning booth) tanning, you may develop hypo-pigmentation (white spots) after treatment and this may not clear for 2 to 3 months or longer.
7. The use of self- tanning skin products must be discontinued one week before treatment.
Any residual self-tanner should be removed prior to treatment.

Post-Treatment Instructions
1. Immediately after treatment, there should be redness and swelling of each hair follicle in the treatment site, which may last up to 2 hours, or longer. The redness may last up to 2 to 3 days. The treated area will feel like a sunburn for a few hours after treatment.
2. Your provider may use an optional cooling method after treatment to ensure your comfort.
3. A topical soothing skin care product such as aloe vera gel may be applied following treatment if desired.
4. Makeup may be used immediately after the treatment as long as the skin is
not irritated.
5. Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of darker or lighter pigmentation.
6. Use a good UVA and UVB sunblock with a minimum of 5% zinc oxide at all times throughout the course of treatment.
7. Do not use any other hair removal treatment products or similar treatments (waxing,
electrolysis or tweezing) that will disturb the hair follicle in the treatment area for 4 to 6 weeks after the laser treatment is performed. Shaving is the preferred method.
8. Within 10 to 21 days after the treatment, shedding of the treated hair may occur and this appears as new hair growth. This is NOT new hair growth. You can clean and remove the hair by washing or wiping the area with a wet cloth or loofa sponge.
9. After the underarms are treated, you may wish to use a powder instead of a deodorant for 24 hours after the treatment to reduce skin irritation.
10. There are no restrictions on bathing except to treat the skin gently, as if you had a sunburn, for the first 24 hours.
11. Return to the office or call for an appointment at the first sign of the return of hair growth. This may be within 4 to 6 weeks for the upper body and possibly as long as 2 to 3 months for the lower body. Hair re-growth occurs at different rates on different areas of the body. New hair growth will not occur for AT LEAST three weeks after treatment. Eventually your treated skin will be free of hair forever.
