The alternative to buying a Last Minute Halloween Costume of course is to make your own costume at home. It may not be the best but it will get you into a Halloween party that has a dress policy on the door.

The most basic is the ghost costume. You can make one using nothing more than a bed sheet and then cutting eyes for holes. I should know because I had to resort to this one year! I certainly got my fair share of candies with no problems at all.

Another is the Rambo or American soldier in Vietnam look. All you need for this is a strip of red material to wrap around your head and some black makeup (you can even use an eyeliner pencil) to make marks under your eyes. Instead of the red material, you can also wrap a green towel around your head and secure it behind the head with some duck tape.

The zombie look is not at all hard to achieve. You can either wear old clothes or simply wear regular clothes such as a suit or dress. The most important thing is your facial appearance. Make sure that your hair looks unkempt and grease it up with hair products as necessary. The grotesque zombie look is easily achieved with regular makeup - just check out YouTube and there are countless video tutorials showing you how to achieve this. It is a surprisingly easy look to copy.

There are also many last minute ideas that can be done using a pair of old sweatpants. For example, take some dark sweatpants and a sweatshirt/T-shirt and draw bones on it with white acrylic paint. Use white face paint for the face too. You have created an awesome skeleton costume!
