Real Estate is always a good value in Las Vegas!
Las Vegas is the largest city in the state of Nevada. Located in the seat of Clark County it is internationally known vacation, shopping, entertainment, and gambling destination. It was established in 1905 and officially became a city in 1911. It was the largest U.S. city founded in the 20th century.
The name Las Vegas is often applied to the unincorporated areas of Clark County that surround the city, especially the resort areas on and near the Las Vegas Strip. This 4½ mi stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is mostly outside the Las Vegas city limits, in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester.
The center of gambling in the United States, Las Vegas is marketed as The Entertainment Capital of the World and is famous for its massive, lavish casino resorts. It is also commonly known as Sin City, due to the popularity of legalized gambling, availability of alcoholic beverages at any time (as is true throughout Nevada), and various forms and degrees of adult entertainment. The city's glamorous image has made it a popular setting for films and television programs.

Las Vegas - major historical events

Las Vegas is one of the most dynamic cities in the world, "reinventing" itself as a gambling mecca, family destination, capital of hedonism ("What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"), or hotspot for dining and shopping over the years. Several events stand out as turning points:
* Establishment of Las Vegas as a railroad town (May 15, 1905).
* Legalization of gambling (March 19, 1931).
* Completion of Hoover Dam (October 9, 1936).
* Opening of Bugsy Siegel's Flamingo Hotel on what would become the Las Vegas Strip (December 26, 1946).
* Atmospheric nuclear testing (1951 to 1962).
* Opening of The Mirage which began the era of megaresort casinos on (November 22, 1989).
* 100th birthday, or Centennial, of Las Vegas (May 15, 2005).
Las Vegas Real Estate Investments
For those looking to make some money investing in real estate the Las Vegas real estate market is one of the most lucrative ones to invest in right now. For several years, the Las Vegas real estate market has been at the top of the list in housing markets. While it has fallen slightly from the very top of the ranks in the past few years, the Las Vegas real estate will one of the top 25 markets for real estate investors for the foreseeable future.The city of Las Vegas is notorious for its fast life and abundance of casinos. There are constantly new people who are moving into the city. Currently the average price for a home in Las Vegas is around $318,000. While this is about $100,000 more than the national average for home prices, the average salary in Las Vegas is also comparable to that of the national average. The Las Vegas real estate market is increasingly become a buyer's market. While this may not be great news for investors that currently hold properties in the city, it is excellent news for investors who are seeking to invest in Las Vegas real estate. Since many current sellers are willing to negotiate lower than their ideal prices, new buyers are getting the long end of the stick.
The investment strategy for those interested in Las Vegas real estate is more of a buy and hold kind of tactic, similar to what one would do with shares of stock. Once you have purchased Las Vegas real estate you can do one of two things. The first option is to rent the property. By renting the property, the monthly income for the mortgage or other expenses is covered. The second option is to buy now and hold the house until the seller's market for Las Vegas real estate is more favorable. Simply holding the property is not as beneficial because there are more capital gains than losses. An investor with a substantial amount of money to invest can hold the property and sell it in a few years for a higher profit.
Some economists speculate as to whether Las Vegas real estate is as profitable as it once was. As long as there are people moving to the city, there will always be a need for housing. The question is not "if", but more of "when". An investor with a little money and patience can receive sizeable gains in Las Vegas real estate investing by simply employing the best investment strategy for that area.
Las Vegas EDUCATION

Primary public education is provided by the Clark County School District (CCSD), which is the fifth largest school district in the nation.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is located in Paradise, three miles south of the city limits. The University of Nevada Medical School has a campus near downtown Las Vegas.
Several national colleges, including the University of Phoenix, have campuses in the
Las Vegas area. Nevada State College and Touro University Nevada are both located in nearby Henderson. The Community College of Southern Nevada has campuses in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson

Hi compleatdad, cool lens. I really enjoyed some articles here. I have also created my lens , as well website on American idol. hope you don't mind if I brag about it , as bragging is acceptable here ;). Here ya go , American Idol returns for a sixth season and promises to be the biggest season to date. It all begins January 16, 2007 with a double premiere. Idolites can expect this season to began with the normal highs and lows as Paul, Randy, and Simon weed through grueling days trying to find the scattered performers ( a term used loosely) that actually have talent.
