If you would have told me ten years ago that I would be in marriage counseling right now, I would have said "no way!" We had a storybook romance. We met where we were working at the time I had an 8 month old daughter, which I told him the second we met. He asked me out and our first date, I brought my daughter. We were both on the same track and we both wanted the same things from life, and we both had the same #1 priority, that of family and kids. Well, that may have become our biggest obstacle, now we have 4 kids and undoubtedly they are our world, so much so that they are the reason for the distance that has grown between us. I freaked out and decided to talk to my husband about it, and we decided that we were not willing to let go of our marriage yet, so we entered into a marriage therapy program.

Well, it seems like these things can just sneak up on you when you least expect them. Going through day to day life can really throw your marriage off track. I just wish that this had been suggested to me before I had gotten married. I mean I thought that living together would help, but studies actually show that the divorce rate amongst couples who live together prior to marriage is actually just as high as couples that don't.

Well, I personally know that my husband and I are both committed to working on this relationship and that counseling is helping me to save my marriage.
