Latest Wii U News

Get ready gamers, Nintendo will be blowing us away next year by launching its latest gaming console--the Wii U. The next generation Wii U console is scheduled to be released in 2012, so if we don't all die because of the Mayan calendar we'll playing games like Batman: Arkham Asylum and Super Mario with graphics superior to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Nintendo is divulging very little so far, but will be unveiling the complete console at the 2012 E3 Expo. But what we do know now is that the controller will have a touch control screen you can instantly stream video games to, not to mention owning HD capabilities. I've always wondered how hot Princess Toadstool would look in HD. The Wii U will also be backwards compatible, so you can still enjoy all your favorite Wii games. I'm just hoping I can transfer all my Virtual Console Games.

It is rumored the Wii U will be geared more towards the hardcore gamer, but will not alienate casual gamers who went mad for the Wii with fun motion control games. It looks like the controller (about the size of two smart phones) will also have motion controls--which makes me nervous. I wish I could only count on two hands how many times I've thrown the controller in epic meltdowns. With this next generation Nintendo console, I can guarantee I won't be throwing the controller anymore, because the new tablet controller will be much more than just to play video games. The Wii U controller will also be a e-Reader, where you can download books, magazines, and comics to read on the tablet. Get ready for this next one Retro Gamers--it appears we will also be able to download every single issue of Nintendo Power! Nintendo will also have a full blown App Store--not the chintzy ones they have with Wii and 3DS--with tons of apps to download onto the tablet controller.
