Gosh, when did I first discover those bright and whimsical Laurel Burch Bag designs?
It must have been back in the late 1980's when my husband and I owned a little souvenir store in the Country Club Plaza here in Kansas City, Missouri. My friend, Meggie, had a store across the hall from mine called The Sculpture Gallery and she carried several lovely Laurel Burch bags which caught my eye on a daily basis. (and dented my wallet)
Now days you can buy luggage online, but back then we still shopped. Since I was held captive by being a store owner, Meggies items were pretty much all I got to see.
Meg carried a pretty large line of Laurel Burch Bags in every design. There were overnighters, weekenders, totes, travel bags, duffle bags, handbags and purses.

Laurel Burch "Woman Spirit" bag was the first in my collection.
My first Laurel Burch bag purchase came after an exceptionally bad week back in the early 1990's. I felt like I needed to spoil myself a little and bought a Laurel Burch Bag and Notebook with the "Women Spirit" artwork (see photo) on both. Later I ended up buying the earrings and watch to match.I can't tell you how many compliments I have received over the years on my Laurel Burch Bag. I still carry the bag and use the notebook after all these years.
My "Tribe" earrings get plenty of attention.
My favorite from the Laurel Burch designs is my silver pair of earrings called "Tribe". They never go unnoticed when I wear them.I also have my silver Laurel Burch "Keshire Cat" Post Earrings. See photos from my collection.
My Laurel Burch Bag and earrings are ageless and very collectible.
I love Laurel Burch and her wonderful designs.
It was my understanding that Laurel would sell her creations from a blanket on the ground back in the mid 1960's.She went on to launch her business and had great success before passing away in 2007 from complications of osteopetrosis, a painful bone disease she had her entire life.
Her art can be found on socks, scarves, mugs, totes, luggage, jewelry, watches, earrings, t-shirts, greeting cards and ceramics.
She is very well known and loved by many. I am happy she left us so many great things to remember her by.

- Laura Burch designs have to be my favorite of all time and have kept them forever BUT
I have the tribes bracelet, earrings and a few other pieces. I am trying to lighten my load of a lifetime of objects de art and jewelry, so my son will not have to do it.
Anyone intested let me know
