Law movies and TV series
There have been several really good Courtroom dramas and other law based TV series and movies over the years. The Law lends its self to really good script writing as it forces the writers to really think hard about what they write and presumably, they also need to get their facts right. It is not my intention state which are the best. Rather, I mean to review as many as I have watched and remember. We shall also have a voting list so that readers can vote for their favourite Program.
I am going to include movies and series where the main proagonist is a Lawyer by profession. So , I'll confess that not all these movies will involve courtroom action, but hey, they're great movies too.
Police detective thrillers are far more numerous and I shall be review a lot more of them. Voting lists for Courtroom dramas and Detective series and m,ovies will be kep separate except for the fact that "Law and Order" must appear in both lists.

The lead roles feature Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington. The plot and the pace of the movie are truely excellent and John Grishams writing skills and knowledge of the law are not overated, one for your collection.

John Travolta Plays Jan Schlichtmann, an attorney who acts for a few residents of the town of Woburn, Massachusetts. The ground water in their town appears to have been contaminated by industrial pollutants from facilities owned by Major US corporations. The movie is based on a true story and Travolta gives a compelling performance.
The lawyer starts out as a cynical chap going after an opportunity. However as the magnitude of the problem manifests, his involvement becomes deeper. The risks bourne by himself and his partners is remarkable. A remarkable movie, I watched it not expecting much and came away very moved.
Law and Order: Criminal Intent
Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Alexandra Eames(Kathryn Erbe) form one team, and the other pairs Detectives Mike Logan ( Chris Noth.) and Nola Falacci (Alicia Witt). Occassionally we get to see both teams working together, however, the usual format is that each team gets a whole episode, and the 22 episodes usually get split evenly between the two teams. The episodes alternate, hence one week its Goren and Eames , the next its Logan and Witt.
