A quick overview of Law and the Internet

The correlation between the Internet and the law and impact each has on the other

Internet, Law and society

The taming of the wild frontier

I have been interested in the question of how the Internet will shape the law. Usually the question is asked the other way around.

It is not really about the laws that govern the Internet, it's more about how the Internet shapes our thinking and how that then translates into the way we think about the law.

The most important thing to know is...

Law is a reflection of the way we are thinking, the Internet is a vision of where our thinking is going.

Feedback? Comments? Questions?

I'd love to hear what you think.

Every site should take all precautions to ensure that they are compliant with local, national and in some cases international law. Do these precautions however change the way the sites operate and what is available, especially if they are a free social networking site? I think free social sites have a bigger challenge than private sites.

Should Free sites such as MySpace, Squidoo, and others make sure that each page / site is compliant with the internet law?
