HOW TO FERTILIZE YOUR LAWN

Soil PH Testing - check this first

The truth is that your soil PH, may be so low or high that your lawn will not accept a fertilizer application readily. It's very important that you take a soil sample to your local county extension service for a PH testing.

I've fertilized many lawns and the grass did not green, even with adequate moisture. Why ? because the soil PH was too low, and this creates a bottle neck for the nutrients and other important elements for proper lawn growth.

LIME - Increases soil PH
SULFER - Decreases soil PH

LAWN FERTILIZING

Following a check for proper soil PH, your ready to apply a liquid or dry (granular) fertilizer.
Ready mixed liquid fertilizers that you connect to your hose are effective and easy.
Use a rotary spreader to apply granular fertilizer in the spring and fall. Drop spreaders cause streaks a lot easier than the rotary spreader.
