4) Always use a gentle sprinkler than a more harsh spray. The use of the a gentle spray allows the lawn to soak up the moisture much more easily.

5) Do not water your lawn everyday.

1) Do not use pesticides. These do not lead to a healthy lawn and are also not healthy for you, your children or animals.

2) Use a slow release nitrogen based fertilizer.

3) Many people only use fertilizer in the summer months. It is much better to use the fertilizer throughout the year. Especially in the beginning of Spring and then again in the middle of Spring.

4) Using a fertilizer in the Summer can, if used excessively, burn your lawn.

5) It is helpful to leave the grass cuttings on your cut lawn. This is a great natural producer of nutrients to lead to a naturally healthy lawn.

1) Do not cut your grass too short. Short grass creates short roots which will mean that your lawn will become damaged in times of low rainfall and find it harder to rejuvenate.


2) Always cut your lawn when the grass is dry. Cutting grass when it is wet causes the grass to tear.

Aerating is essentially creating holes in your lawn. This is often a step that is ignored by many. Aerating is an important step and one that will help in your quest to grow a green lawn.

1) Aerating your lawn allows air, water and the nutrients to travel deep through the soil to the root of the grass.

2) Aerate your lawn in the autumn/the fall.

3) If you do not have an aerator then a simple garden fork can be used. Make the holes 3 inches deep and keep the holes about 10 inches apart. Do this for the whole of your garden.

4) You will need to aerate your lawn, usually in the fall, and the easiest way to do this is to use a garden fork. The depth of the holes should be about 3 inches and you should repeat this every 6 inches apart over your entire lawn. If you prefer, you can purchase tools for aerating your lawn but the fork works perfectly and is fairly inexpensive.

What I have to say here is very short simply because there is only one way to ensure that damage isn't done to your lawn.
