Duck Lawn and Garden Ornaments Free Woodworking Pattern

Duck Lawn Ornaments Pattern

A Mother duck and her Ducklings walk in formation across your lawn or garden. Cut them out of plywood with a jigsaw, sand the edges smooth and paint both sides any colour you wish. Make them large or small and have as many ducklings as you wish. They can parade in a row or be scattered throughout your garden.

How to Make the Ducks

There are two heads; one is the mother looking back at her ducklings and the other head is for the ducklings looking up at the mother duck.

Using the squares as guides, make the mother as big as you wish and make the ducklings half the size. Smaller ducks can be used in small gardens and larger ducks should be used for lawn ornaments or large gardens.

If you are artistic you can paint them to look like real ducks or if you prefer, you can make cartoon-like ducks using yellow and orange. Use waterproof paint and add a coat of waterproof of varnish.

Other Uses

If you are not familiar with woodworking, you can use the patterns for sewing appliques or decorative painting.

Make them big or small depending on what you are decorating.

You can make a baby outfit with larger ducks on bedding and smaller ducks on bibs and clothing.

These look like a ton of fun! They're a great example of what I was talking about over at http://www.squidoo.com/fun-wood-projects. You've got the idea down pat!
