The traditional edger is a dual blade tool which has a long wooden handle. Although they may be a little old fashioned they still do a great job. There's no gasoline needed and no cord to get in the way.

The cartridge lasts for between several weeks and months depending on how much you use it. They are also relatively cheap to replace.

In addition they can work at different angles and can reach areas that manual edgers wouldn't be able to. If you have a lawn that has lots of different angles and runs up against a wall or two then you are probably going to find an electric lawn trimmer works best.
