Really stupid laws

One of the major problems of this country is its extensive legal system that is both large and inefficient.  This mainly lays in the fact that laws are often put into books with side agendas attached as well as without being fully reviewed.  I'm willing to bet that a good portion of the legal problems in the country would disappear if ALL laws passed were actually read and reviewed by those who are responsible for passing them.  The problem resides in the fact that Politian's use laws as trading tools to further their own agenda and do not really concern themselves with the true impact of every law they pass.  Some of the language used in laws are so vague and subjective that anyone with any amount of brain would be able to argue effectively both for and against the law on the court room floor. 

Some of the laws simply need to be modernized to account for the technology leaps in the last 30 years.  Other laws need to be completely reworded and have expiration dates put on them so that they are reviewed at regular interval.  Even this day, there are still a good number of Christian inspired laws that restricts/conflicts with other religions.  In a country which is supposed to have a separation of church and state as well as freedom of religion this is simply unacceptable.  There are a number of very poorly worded sex related laws that need to be reviewed by much more open minded legal scholar rather then close minded preachers who can influence votes…  For example, there is a law in Florida which, under a strict interpretation, can be construed as illegal to have sex or even the act of thinking about sex would be illegal.  Law makers need to "understand" that sex is a natural human behavior without which the human race(or any species of living organism) can not exist.  And, in "nature", there are NO "unnatural" sex.  What is "unnatural" is writing laws regulating the acts of sex that can be performed.  Writing laws that limits the propagation of the species or freedom of behavior is both counter productive and a waste of anyone's tax dollar.  Understanding what makes the US great is its melting pot of different people that have come to call it home.  Laws need to have a more geo-centric point of view rather then ethno-centric point of view.  Laws are supposed to accommodate ALL citizens and not just the WASP puritan religious fanatics.  Protection of the rights of one citizen only goes as far as not to limit the rights of other citizens.
