Lazy Days of Winter

Here's a few things that should bring back some memories...

1. Go ice skating on a backyard rink. I did this when I was 12 years old and came home half frozen but blissfully happy.

2. Make a hot chocolate and add a big dollop of whip cream. Worry about your waistline tomorrow.

3. Go sledding.

4. Have a snowball fight!

4. Stretch out on your bed and just read for the sheer enjoyment of it. As a kid, it used to be Trixie Beldon or Nancy Drew. Now, I'm nearing the end of the Diana Gabaldon series of books. Maybe by springtime, I will be finished!! Ahh, the bliss of reading for the sheer enjoyment!!

5. Day dream about what Santa is going to bring you... hey, it's my list lol!

6. Get out an old movie on your shelf and treat yourself to nice day all to yourself.

7. It's been a long time since I tried snowshoeing and since I have this huge park across the street, I should give it a try this winter!

8. Might be about time to build a snow family in the front yard, including as many people as we have snow for lol.

You know, I never tried snowshoes until I was a teenager and you know how teenagers are. If someone dares you to do something... you do it. Me, I tried walking down the stairs in snowshoes. Granted, it was only a few stairs leading to the snow covered ground, but I tried it and yes, I tripped and got to the bottom, really quickly. But hey, I do have a story to remember lol and that's what being a teen is all about. And for what it's worth, I don't recommend it, but it is good exercise and I won't be doing any stairs this time.

Perhaps I am a bear, or some hibernating animal underneath, for the instinct to be half asleep all winter is so strong in me.

Many say that there is no greater power and the world would be such a better place if everyone tried just a little bit harder. Do something today that shows a little love to one person... at least. You have no idea what chain reaction you could start.

Is there someone's walk that you could shovel? It would take so little time to make a difference in someone's life. :)

Christmas might be over, but I can still curl up and watch this dvd... again and again! You just never get tired of it!

I don't think that kids play outside any more?? I can remember my mom and dad always telling us to go out and play and we always found tons of things to do. We would have loved to have something like this, but with three girls in the family, I have a feeling that it would not look quite this rustic lol!
