UPDATE!! If you recently received a Le Creuset Round French Oven, you might have some questions on how to use it. Remember - a French Oven is simply Le Creuset's version of a Dutch oven, and you use it the same way. I've added a new section a little further down with some books about cooking in a Dutch oven - the recipes will be the same for your new French oven. I've also added a section on caring for enameled cast-iron cookware. Enjoy your Le Creuset cookware, and have fun cooking!Le Creuset Round French Oven Features
It's the little things that make it so special
These beautiful and functional enameled cast-iron pots hold a full 7-1/4 quarts - that's big enough to cook for your whole family. Because it's cast iron, it has excellent heat distribution and retention, so it cooks food evenly without hot spots at low temperatures. (Cooking at lower temperatures saves you on your energy bill) Not only perfect for cooking and preparation, it's pretty enough to carry right to the table for serving. That means you can save money by not having to buy separate serving dishes, and save time by not having to wash extra platters. Le Creuset cookware has a 101 year warranty against defect so you'll never have to buy another one - and neither will your children. Like all Le Creuset cast-iron products, it is hand-cast in a one-of-a-kind sand mold and hand-finished at the Le Creuset factory in France - and it's available in a variety of gorgeous colors. To see more fantastic features, click Le Creuset Round French Oven

Yarnell's all-inclusive meals don't require the usual juggling of oven times to coordinate complementary dishes, and cleanup is simplified even further by a preliminary canola oil spritz on the pot. Her emphasis on whole foods, abundant servings of vegetables, moderate amounts of protein and the incorporation of whole grains like amaranth and quinoa justifies her health claims. Yarnell also guides readers in creating their own custom versions of the one-pot meal, even offering a one-pot meal weekly grocery list.

Le Creuset Round French Oven Recipe
One Pot Turkey Supper
What You Need:
1 lb. boneless turkey breast
1/4 t of salt
2/3 C of frozen cranberries
2/3 C of orange marmalade
1 t of lemon juice
1/8 t of pepper
1/2 C of walnuts
1/2 C of turkey broth
2 C of pearl onions
1 large sweet potato cut in 1/4 inch slices
3 C of frozen cut green beans
1 t of dried sage
How to Make It:
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
Spray the bottom, sides and lid of your round French oven with a non stick cooking spray.
Place the turkey breast into the bottom of the pan and sprinkle the top evenly with the salt.
Place the cranberries into the blender and blend until small chunks.
Add in the marmalade, lemon juice and pepper and pulse a couple of time to mix.
Add the walnuts and broth and pulse until the walnuts are chopped into small pieces.
Pour half of the mixture over the top of the turkey.
Add the onions and sweet potato slices.
Pour the remaining cranberry sauce over the top of the onions and potatoes.
Spread the green beans over the top and sprinkle with the sage.
Cover and bake 35 minutes or until the turkey is cooked through.
Spread the sauce over each serving.
Makes 4 servings
This is a Thanksgiving meal all in one pot and is a great way of introducing a special meal into our everyday life without spending hours in the kitchen. The turkey, cranberries and green beans may be fresh or frozen. If using frozen ingredients there is no need to thaw, it won't change the amount of cooking time. You may also use dried cranberries and if you're in a pinch use orange juice with pulp instead of the marmalade.

Le Creuset Round French Oven Care and Cleaning
If you put your Le Creuset Round French oven to a lot of use, eventually it's going to get something burned on. And there will come a time when the interior enamel develops some staining. What do you do?Fortunately, there are a few tips for cleaning the inside of your enameled cast iron cookware. First of all, you can go directly to the source and try Le Creuset's Enameled Cast-Iron Cleaner
The topic was recently raised on the website The Kitchn and their readers had some interesting suggestions. One reader claims that she's had great results with using a mild bleach solution - fill the pot with water and a small amount of bleach, then leave over night. Another innovative idea was to use Efferdent denture cleaner. Many people swear by Bon Ami, and others insist that plain old baking soda is the way to go. To read the whole thread, visit The Kitchn.
If stains on your Le Creuset Cookware are a problem, try one of these solutions - and let us know in the comments below how it worked out for you. :)

- I've never tried a dutch or french oven, but one pot cooking sounds right up my alley. Otherwise, I use my crockpot.

- You can use the dutch oven just like the crockpot, with a long cooktime at low temps or you can cook at higher temps.

I even use the module for poetry that I share on lenses.

- I have a smaller pot (maybe 3 or 4 qts) but I just LOVE how evenly it cooks on the stove or in the oven. My pot came from my Grandmother so I am not sure how old it is, but it still looks great. Nice Lense! I love all the different colors!

- I absolutely love my red French oven! I own a lot of Calphalon cookware, but my trusty Le Creuset pot makes the best beef stew and homemade chili ever! I've also made killer spaghetti sauce and pork roast. It still looks great after more than 10 years of use. Thanks for the great lens! Happy cooking!
