Leah Remini
I've always been a big fan of the show The King of Queens, and actress Leah Remini is one of the main reasons why. From 1999-2007, Remini starred as Carrie Heffernan alongside Kevin James in The King of Queens' successful nine-year run on CBS. In 2011, Leah Remini was fired from her co-hosting duties on The Talk, which currently airs Monday through Friday on CBS.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Leah Remini grew up in a middle class family. Leah's Father is of Sicilian heritage, and her mother was of Austrian Jewish background. Remini's older sister, Nicole, was her assistant on The King of Queens. Leah also has four half-sisters.Remini and her mother moved to Los Angeles when Leah was 13 years of age. When Remini was 14, she quit school and worked various jobs at a restaurant while attempting to break into the acting biz.
Leah scored parts in two in short-airing series, Fired Up, and First Time Out. Remini scored the role of Carrie Heffernan on the hit CBS sitcom The King of Queens. While appearing on the show, she additionally had a sizable part in the successful 2003 comedy movie, Old School. The King of Queens ran for nine seasons, from September 1998 to May 2007. Since The King of Queens ended, Leah has worked on sporadic smaller projects, instead electing to spend more time at home and focus on her family. In December of 2009, Leah Remini reprized her role as Carrie Heffernan on an episode of Lopez Tonight with George Lopez portraying Doug Heffernan in the skit.
Remini is currently one of the co-hosts of The Talk, which is a daily talk show that debuted in October of 2010. Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Marissa Jaret Winokur will be the show's other co-hosts. The show comparable to The View as the women discuss today's issues amongst themselves and various guests.
Remini, a Scientologist, married fellow actor Angelo Pagan in 2003, Pagan appeared on The King of Queens several times playing various characters. The couple have one child, a girl named Sofia Bella, who was born in 2006.
