So, what's up with this Lensography?

You see spirals (in lots of colors, even).

And it's called "Focusing In."

But it's about Leanne Chesser (that's me).

You might be wondering why I didn't put up a picture of myself (you can see some pics below).

Or, you might be curious as to what the heck spirals have to do with anything.

Spirals are hugely significant to me. They have many symbolic meanings that reflect pretty much everything that's important to me! Meanings include:
  • spirit
  • intuition
  • getting to the core of the issue (one of my greatest strengths)
  • coming into being
  • the journey of life
  • wisdom
  • the process of learning & growing

All of these things are vital in my life. They're values I hold, or things I love, or things that characterize me.

And that's why I've used a spiral image in my Introduction . . . and why you'll see spirals throughout the lens. It's a cool symbol for focusing in, too. And that's what a "Lensography" does - - focuses in on someone's lenses . . . and lenses focus in on a particular topic. Pretty cool.

I also love color as you'll see when you visit some of my lenses, which is why the spirals are multi-colored.

So, enjoy my Lensography - - the lens that focuses in (like a spiral) on what I've created on Squidoo.

I was selected to be one of the new SquidAngels for the first quarter of 2010! That's over now, but then I was Angel over the Spiritual Awareness community here on Squidoo, and then the Religious Education community. Now I'm just an Angel in general, blessing any lens that I think is great. Here are the lenses I created to share what I look for in a lens and to feature the great lenses that I bless.

I was part of the Giant Squid Challenge that ran from October 1 to December 31, 2009. Giant Squids are Squidoo lensmasters who have at least 50 quality lenses.

I published my 50th lens on December 4 and applied.

I'm so excited to report that I'm now a Giant Squid! I actually had tears in my eyes when I found out (I also found out the same day that I'm a SquidAngel - it was an amazing day!).

This is my favorite topic ever. And the two concepts are so closely related for me that I can't separate them.

I've included some stuff here that might not seem to belong based on the title but it's because the concepts covered in the lenses have to do with personal growth or spirituality.

Random Acts of Kindness Day and Meaningful Quotes received purple stars! Feed the Homeless was chosen as LOTD as part of the Charity Cookoff and won $1000 for my charity, Covenant House! It was also listed in the 75 Best Thanksgiving lenses for 2010.

Nutrition matters to me. I care about what I put into my body and I care about effects on our planet. So, I choose to eat a vegetarian diet (vegan). Visit my lenses all about my favorite foods relevant to being a vegetarian. I've included the symbolism one here rather than in the spirituality section (below) because it's more about the fruit to me, than about spirituality.

Interesting Facts About the Powerful Pomegranate was nominated in the Best Potential Giant Category in the 2009 Giant Squid Awards, but didn't win. However, it was awarded a purple star! Pomegranate Symbolism was given a purple star as well.

I've chosen to donate a portion of my earnings from Squidoo to Earth Justice. Their mission states, "Earthjustice is a non-profit public interest law firm dedicated to protecting the magnificent places, natural resources, and wildlife of this earth, and to defending the right of all people to a healthy environment" (http://www.earthjustice.org). This fits in very nicely with my love of the environment and my desire to care for it.

I've also chosen to donate part of my earnings from Squidoo to Covenant House. Their site states, "Incorporated in 1972, Covenant House has been leading the effort to help homeless kids. And today, we are the largest privately-funded agency in the Americas that provides food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and an array of other important services to homeless, throwaway, and runaway kids" (http://www.covenanthouse.org). Homelessness is something that I've cared about for a lot of years and this is a perfect organization for me to donate to.
