Think It Takes Hours of Exercise To Lose Body Fat?
Exercise Less, Not More!
If I had to pick out the number one reason most people fail to achieve good results in the gym, guess what it would be?
Over-training. Exercising too much.
Sounds counter-intuitive, but trust me: It's quite real.
Folks write to me all the time and say...
"Jon, I don't get it. I cannot lose bodyfat and I'm running six days a week for an hour and training in the gym five days a week for 45 minutes!"
My answer back is usually:
"You are training 4x more than me, and I'm a fitness pro!"
Look, do you take 21 aspirin for a headache, thinking the more you take the faster your pain will go away?
No?
So why apply the same logic to fitness? Only a certain amount is required. Beyond that, you are spinning your wheels.
When I wrote 7 Minute Muscle, I exposed all the lies about training too long and why this is not the best way to achieve the results you want. Check it out if you want the facts.
One more thing: 75% of your progress will come in the kitchen, not in the gym or on the treadmill.
As for me, I would much rather eat smart and train less than train all the time and be forced to eat 6-8 times a day just to recover from it all.
That makes no sense to me at all.
You?

How to Make Healthy Food And Lifestyle Choices & Tame Belly Fat
Eat to Live DON'T Live to Eat!
ManageWeightLoss.com is a free resource to help you make healthy food and lifestyle choices for you and your family. You'll find topics that will help improve your overall health and sense of well-being related to weight loss, relationships, diet, exercises, nutrition, vitamins, prevention, and more.
The first goal of dieting is to stop further weight gain. The next goal is to establish realistic weight loss goals. While the ideal weight is a BMI of 20-25, this is difficult to achieve for many people. Thus success is higher when a goal is set to lose 10% to 15% of baseline weight as opposed to 20% to 30% or higher. It is also important to remember that any weight reduction in an obese person would result in health benefits.
A couple of effective ways to lose weight is to either eat fewer calories or eat a simple fat burning food. One pound is equal to 3500 calories. In other words, you have to burn 3500 more calories than you take-in to lose one pound. Most adults need between 1200- 2800 calories/day-depending on body size & activity level to meet the body's energy needs.

What's Your Take On Fat Loss?
One Of The Main Causes Of Belly Fat
The simple fact is most of us just plain overeat, everyday.
If we consume more calories than we actually use on a daily basis, then those extra calories that didn't get used are stored on our body, as fat.
If we're eating alot of fatty foods and drinking loads of sugary drinks such as sodas, not only is that adding to our overall calorie intake, but we're doing more damage because guess where all of that excess sugar goes... that's right it turns into fat - belly fat for most of us.
So, it doesn't matter what amount of exercises you're doing to get rid of fat... if you're consuming more calories than you're using, you will more than likely get and stay fat.
Of course, genetics, exercise, and/or injuries play a part in how fat a person gets, but it bares repeating...
The simple reason why most people get fat is because they overeat.
So, I'm sure you've heard this before but, one of the simplest ways to get rid of stubborn belly fat is to watch what you eat, and don't eat more than your body is using up!

Burning Question...
Can Lack of Sleep Give You a Fat Belly?
Despite the attention someone may place on diet and exercise, weight gain may be caused by sleep deprivation in some people. How? When lack of sleep becomes an ongoing issue, levels of Grehlin increase, and causes a stronger appetite, while levels of Leptin decrease.
If you've beat yourself up trying to lose weight and nothing seems to be working, don't give up. Lack of sleep may be keeping you from achieving weight loss success.
So, How Much Sleep Do You Need?
Experts say to sleep as long as you want for several days. Then, your sleep should stabilize and you'll find yourself waking up after the same number of hours daily (give or take 15 minutes or so).
Once you know about how much sleep you need, start getting into a steady routine. Set a regular time for sleep. Start getting ready ahead of time. And experts say, avoid using the bed for watching TV or doing work.
