Beginning to learn how to scrapbook
If you are like me and want to learn how to scrapbook but don't know where to start, I understand. I have a 6 year old boy and TONS of photos that were just sitting around in boxes or various drawers somewhere until i got them into scrapbooks.
You might have gotten interested in scrapbooking from a friend or possibly even a scrapbooking consultant. OR maybe you even looked into how to learn to scrapbook at a scrapbooking party. Learning how to scrapbook is really not all that hard.

How to learn to scrapbook from scrapbook parties
Since I am the crafty one in the relationship and wanted to learn how to scrapbook, my husband suggested I go to a scrapbook party. He nagged me "if you really want to learn how to scrapbook, then you should go to this scrapbook party" So I went... and I left very frustrated. Why? Because I was hoping to get some scrapbooking tips and techniques.
1.) It was full women chit-chatting who only wanted to just show photos of their children, which is all fine and well.
2.) AND it cost me $10 to make one page that could only fit in some expensive albums which I didn't even like.
3.) It felt like I was having scrapbooking supplies sold to me.
4.) I was given little to NO help from the scrapbooking consultant and wound up cropping my pictures way to small. SO I was a bit pissed off by the whole experience.

Frustrations in learning how to scrapbook
So, as you might be able to guess, it didn't leave me feeling like I wanted to learn how to scrapbook, never mind trying to learn to do in way in which I got pleasure out of.
A few days later, after I had cooled down, I looked around in craft stores. Looking for books about how to scrapbook. I was trying to find some for free scrapbooking page ideas. I was shocked when I found that there was nothing really available. So I went online and did some searching. I began reading all I could find, but alot of the information was too vague or not really related. There's lots of information online, probably a bit too much, in fact there's an astounding amount of scrapbooking information - by far to many choices, way too many ideas about how to go about it, but nothing in a step by step "Here is how you do this". And here I thought technology was supposed to make it easier !! WRONG...

Final thoughts - learn how to scrapbook
I found at the beginning that that the best pages suited for me are just simple scrapbooking pages. They get done what I want just by getting my pictures out of storage and into an album. Simple scrapbook pages are also much less work, and the results are just as nice. I did finally find a TERRIFIC resource that has helped me immensely in my hobby.
