Mastiff dogs are beautiful creatures and deserve a lot of respect as rescue dogs, as well as guard dogs, or simply great dogs that were calm and witty. But without knowing some basic mastiff training tips having a mastiff could be catastrophic and down right stressful!
A couple of years ago I was in the same situation with my masttif. Picture this: I walk in from a long day of work, only to smell the disgusting excretion from my mastiff. Let me tell you that was the last thing I wanted to deal with right when I got home, I mean who wants a dog that can't use the bathroom outside? It was outrageous! That's when I decided to make a change. I talked to a friend who owned a pet shop and he told me about some great resources on mastiff training tips. I tried my friend's program and boy did it work, I had my mastiff using the bathroom outside, and listening to my every command in under a week!
Although my friends guide wasn't perfect in that some of the methods were outdated, nearly all of them were perfect and made training my mastiff so much easier. Months later I think it was one of the best decisions I made for myself and my awesome mastiff.

Obedience -
Having an obedient mastiff is very important if you want to train them to follow your commands. But before you can train them to be obedient you need to know their background. The mastiff dog has been studied to go all the way back to around 1500 B.C.! These massive beasts were used as hunting dogs, as well as rescue animals for the stranded. Now that you know some things about these beasts we can talk more about the obedience of the dog. It is natural for these dogs to listen to commands, but when you begin to yell at them, they get scared and do the opposite of what you want. Age -
As with almost anything the older it gets the harder it is to learn new things. Well the same is true in mastiffs, let alone all dogs. The proper age to begin training is four to six months. This allows for proper growth and development, and is also the perfect time as their mind at this age is a sponge. You should easily be able to train them the common "sit" "stay" "lay" "shake" commands without a problem. Once they have learned that, they are ready to build off of the simple things into more complicated commands. Timing is key in this situation and you must put forth 100% effort to train these animals to do what you want.
The Secret of Mastiff Training Tips
Every day thousands of mastiff owners wonder how to combine two essential features to training their mastiffs. One, which is simplicity and how easy the manual is to follow, and the second is the results... everyone likes results right? Of course they do!That's exactly what I got when I purchased the course. The book took me by the hand and showed me what to do, and better yet what not to do to my mastiff. Within days I was noticing a HUGE difference in my mastiff when it came to fetching, barking, and even cool tricks I never thought my mastiff could learn!
With the Mastiff Training Tips Course I learned how to prevent:
- Unwanted chewing
- Obnoxious barking, yet keeping the intimidating dog feature
- Inside bathroom usage (no more clean-ups!)
- Slobber all over the floor
and so much more I can't name it all.
However; the book does move quite fast, so I had to reread it a few times to grasp all the concepts, but it was definitely worth it once the results started surfacing.
