The Best Knowledge About Social Networking Is On Squidoo

Social Networking is huge, and Squidoo lenses offer an incredible knowledge base to start with.
My point is that it is really impossible to tackle with the same intensity all Social Networks, it is a problem even to know which of them offers best results as traffic, branding, SEO... just because they have a speedy development, a glorious or obscure evolution which is hard to predict.

Who can imagine that Twitter, the 140 characters conversation, or Facebook which started as a tool of finding our classmates... will be in the top of Social Networks in just two years?
To be realistic, each of us is doing great in some Social Networkings, medium on others, and maybe doesn't jump in many of them yet.

Anyway, talented lensmasters already created lenses about a lot of Social Networks based on their personal experiences, and from this reason alone I consider them precious. Even thought what is working for some, cannot work for others, as this is not one glove fit all, lenses created from personal experience have a better chance to be a good to follow educational tools, and they are here on open-source Squidoo platform, FREE to read and learn.

This is why I create this lens, as a repository of Social Networking lenses, just to have the best knowledge in one place. So if you feel weak in 1-2 Networks, it is OK, happen to all of us, you must start a self-education process, reading FIRST the lenses which reflect your need.
Books can be the SECOND level of mastermind Social Networking, but the first level will get you started.

"With a group of followers that could be quite varied, the temptation might be to make offers for any products you can think of. If someone offers you an interesting-looking joint venture, you might want to mention it on Twitter, offer a discount code, and see if anyone bites. You could do that, and some people might bite. However, if your keep your offers closely-targeted to your specialized subject-whatever that subject might be-you'll continue to come across as an expert, and because your trust levels on that topic will be higher, your conversion rates should be higher too."

The Golden rules of Social Networks

Social Media Success

The Importance of Social media is powerful as it has a "different kind of traffic" - the people can get engaged with you and be interactive. This is itself is a supper golden rule, but I want to get in more details.

The 8 Golden Rules of Social Media Success:
Note:
I generically call it "your site", this can be: a traditional Website, a blog, a lens, a hubpage and so on.

Golden Rule #1:
Make your site and obviously your site's content easily accessible. Think about a good answer for each of those questions:
1) Can your audience easily link to your site
2) How readers be notified of updates to your site
3) How easy is it to broadcast or syndicate your site
4) How easily can readers reach your site over and over again

Rule #5: Allow others to take your idea and make
it their own. We're not talking about plagiarism,
but about collaboration. Some of the greatest
ideas can come as a result of someone taking your
idea to the next level. At the very least, your audience
will appreciate your ideas and give you some
acknowledgement. REMEMBER - community is
all about sharing.

Golden Rule #2:
Including buttons and links on your page it will make tagging and book marking easy to do.
This way your audience will have a easy way to say and express the value of your site. It makes it easier for readers to
promote and comment as well. And by the way, don't forget about the Facebook "like" buttons, they are allover now for a reason.

Golden Rule #3: Reciprocate any incoming links.
This adds a great incentive to make others wanting to link to you again and often. You can use features like trackbacks (for Wordpress blogging) or retweet in Twitter and so on..

Golden Rule #4: Make your content portable with: mp3s, pdfs, email follow-ups and more. Make it easy to link to or easy to add on their site. take the example of YouTube, it is the best example of site that do this. They provide a URL as well as an embed code that makes videos portable.
Note: Mobile marketing now can help you a lot, making content available through formats such as pdfs and mp3s, this definitely improves your
content consumption.

Rule #5: Allow others to take your idea and make
it their own. We're not talking about plagiarism,
but about collaboration. Some of the greatest
ideas can come as a result of someone taking your
idea to the next level. At the very least, your audience
will appreciate your ideas and give you some
acknowledgement. REMEMBER - community is
all about sharing.

Rule #6: Always act as a resource for your
audience even when there's no apparent benefit.
The more helpful you are, the greater your efforts
will be appreciated and these benefits will
materialize over the long term.

Rule #7: Be free with giving recognition and praise
to your audience for providing insightful and useful
comments on your site. People love to be noticed
for their contributions. Make them feel good about
you by making them feel good about themselves.

These rules provide the foundation for your search
media optimization strategy. I think if you start
incorporating these rules as a part of your site's
plan, you'll see immediate benefits and ultimately,
make you more money.

For me, you'll see more of social media work
down the road. It's TIME.

To your social media success,
