Recently, more and more people are already interesting to start learning for crochet. Why? Crochet offers a "customize and individual touch" handicraft. It's a personal pride when we have "own hand made" crochet, such as: scarf, hat, even sweater.

Unfortunately, although many people have a "high motivation" to make a crochet, they confuse how to start learning for crochet.

Actually, if we want to start learning for crochet, the first important step that must be done is understanding crochet definition. Crochet (hakken, Netherland) is a technique using one hand and top hooked needle, whereas knitting (breien, Netherland) is a technique using two hands and long tapered needles.

When you're practicing to crochet, sometimes, you will find any obstacles, such as: hopeless, inconsistent to act, or boredom.

Avoiding many obstacles above, which has been referred, is choosing a "simple but attractive" project as your first practice.

A simple project means that you're only using basic technique and not "playing" many textures and colors, whereas an attractive project means that equipment and component used to crochet is making attractive activity. So, when your project has been successfully finished, you will like it very much.

TIPS : choose a project that doesn't need long time to finish. such as: make a cellular phone case, small hand bag, bandanna or hat.

Suggestion for successful crochet learning

  1. Don't be hopeless when you're found a wrong step. Open your craft, correct it, and continue your work as soon as possible. Be easy and fun because wrong step is a normal thing. You can do it better and step by step.

    I used to crochet all the time! I've made afghans, barbie doll clothes, footsies, scarves, etc. So much fun to do back when I was younger. I always had to have a pattern to go by. Give me instructions and I could make it. I've had friends who could just simply look at a crochet piece and make one just like it. Not me! Very good lens!
