Learn to make money on the web with Ed Dale's The Challenge
Ranked #3,587 in Internet, #201,440 overall
Taking The Challenge can teach you to make money on the web
The Challenge
Take the Challenge and learn how to make your first $1 online.
The Challenge (originally called The Thirty Day Challenge) is a FREE training program that provides step-by-step instructions on how to make money on the web. The program was started in 2005 by Ed Dale and Dan Raine. Both men have extensive internet marketing experience and decided to pass on their techniques to others who want to start making money by using the internet.
This is an easy program because it is well done. The training modules are broken down into bite sized tasks that can be accomplished at a student's own pace. It is not a "get rich quick scheme". It is hard work and takes time. But, by the end of The Challenge each participant should have the tools to build content and websites that will generate revenue.
The goal by the end is to make $1. It is definitely a reachable goal.

What is The Challenge?
The Challenge is a free, multi-week online seminar that trains would-be internet marketers to make money online. Originally started in 2005, it was called the 30 Day Challenge because it lasted (you guessed it) thirty days. In July 2010 the name was changed to The Challenge because it was no longer 30 days long. After some review of past seminars, the creators felt that doing a one-week-on-one-week-off format would be better for the participants. It gave them the time to let the lessons sink in and also have some down time.
The lessons provide students a step-by-step process that will help them build websites that "should" begin to make money. Of course there are no guarantees, but the tools provided (such as a free trial to Market Samurai) as well as approaches to finding untapped niche markets will more likely than not create a viable income stream.
There are no classrooms per se, and there are no set meeting times. The teaching modules are short, easy-to-watch videos that can be found at the main website or on The Challenge Youtube channel. There is always a short introduction by Ed Dale followed by videos by team members. The 2010 Challenge has 7 weekly modules broken down by daily lessons. Many lessons will have a homework assignment that will spur participants on to get their website up and running. Doing the homework is the key to success.
The website also has a forum to connect with other members and a place to ask questions. There is a blog as well as a page dedicated to all the training. The Challenge has a Twitter account and a Facebook page for those who want to follow along using these websites.
The 2010 Challenge was launched in July, but is still active. I took the 30 Challenge in July 2009 and did not keep up with it during 2010. However, I did recently complete the 2010 Challenge in May of 2011, so don't let the dates concern you. The program is very effective no matter when you participate.
The 2011 Challenge is expected to be launched in July. I imagine that some elements will be similar (if not the same) from past Challenges, but the team always adds new elements. The internet is constantly changing. Internet marketers must be aware of these changes and address them accordingly. Google's Panda update has impacted many websites and their ability to make money. I imagine this will be covered in some capacity in the next Challenge. You will be sent a notice of the launch when you sign up online.
Who should take The Challenge? This is a great program for new internet marketers to start out on the right foot. It will prevent them from making critical mistakes as well as prevent them from wasting valuable time.
What if I am a seasoned internet marketer? Some of the lessons will seem old hat, but not all of them. Some will be reminders of what to do and what not to do. Some will be completely fresh. It will help you tweak what you have, and take your site to the next level. If you are an active Squidoo member, this is a training program that can (potentially) increase your lens exposer as well as help you market on other sites including your very own. As they say it is best not to put everything in one (Squidoo) basket.
How can this be free? What is the catch? Yes, I can promise it is free and it is really well put together. Ed Dale's team has a program you can sign up for a monthly fee to keep in touch with the team during the rest of the year. The Challenge allows them to find potentially interested marketers who want to pay for additional lessons as well as keep up with the everchanging aspects of marketing on the world wide web. Signing up for these programs is completely voluntary. You are not obligated to purchase nor are you obligated to purchase any of the software programs used during The Challenge. But, it is more than possible that you decide they are worth it.
