Playing Guitar

There are several steps in learning to play the guitar.

First, you must learn how to tune your guitar properly, from the bottom E to the high E strings. This will help make your playing sound better, as well as familiarize you with some of the string and fret combinations.

Second, you will need to learn to read guitar tabs, the system of musical notation that is specific to guitars only.

Third, it is important to learn how to both hold the guitar correctly and correct placement for your fingers on the frets to enable you to play chords.

Next, you should learn strumming techniques which will help with stylized songs you will play.

Last, before you start learning songs, you will need to practice chords and scales to enable you to quickly switch your fingers around on the frets and strings when you change chords in a song.

Then, you can begin learning your favorite songs and playing them like the pros, with some practice.
