People of all ages can enjoy this wonderful way to learn English as a second language.

For many people, London is an impossibly glamorous destination. London is also famous for being the home of the English language and people come to London language schools from around the world to learn English.

You can learn more about this fantastic way to study English in a London language college!

Do you want to learn to speak English for work or for study?

Apart from learning English for work, people choose to study the language for a number of other reasons.

A London intensive English course, for instance, is recommended for anyone looking to spend any significant time in the UK.

An au pair, for example, who is newly arrived in the UK and has little English would really benefit from an intensive English course to help settle the nerves and ease the transition into a new culture.

If the new visitor already had a grasp of English, a course to practice English in London is another way to help settle in.

As anyone who has ever learned a second language will know, there is no substitute for practicing in a country which speaks the language and this situation can not be easily simulated at home

Learn to speak many languages

When in London, you can attend one of their colleges and learn many foreign languages to help you while you travel or work around England and Europe.

It is essential to have a good grasp of English and to be fluent in the spoken word, without foreign accents, if you want to have a high-paying job in Europe, America or Australia.

You can research many of the language colleges by searching the internet, but I think you will find the college we have linked to here has an exceptional list of language studies to select from.

There is no doubt that while French was once the language considered most essential for international travel and business, English has long ago taken over that title as the one essential language every student and international traveller must know at least the basics of.

Is English your second or third language?

If you weren't born in an Engllish speaking country, you may also have had this experience.

Perhaps you could share with us some of what you went through before you learnt the language, and tell us if it was easier once you learned to speak English.

And did you learn to speak english in London or where?

What a great idea including the 'common phrases' in here, it really gives a good taste of what learning the complete language would feel like!

I spoke 3 languages when I was 8 years old, but only speak English nowdays which I regret. I might look at learning another language again!
