The Russian Language 

Russian (Russkiy yazyk) is the language in Eurasia that is geographically speaking the Slavic language language spoken in the largest area.

The Russian language belongs to the family of Indo-European languages and is one of three East Slavic languages that are considered to still be active, living language. The othe two living East Slavic languages are Belarusian and Ukrainian.

The russian language does not use the latin alphabet, but the cyrilly alphabet. A good article about the cyrillc alphabet can be found at Wikipedia.
