Learn Guitar Quick Using Chords

Learn guitar quick and you'll be on your sure-fire way to success!

Everyone likes to hear a few chords strummed around a campfire under the starry sky on a cold winter's night. Or perhaps you'd rather be a rockstar, playing music to crowds of more than 10,000 people.

Whichever you choose, you will need to know some chords. If you want to learn guitar quick, you may find chords a little overwhelming at first unless you use a systematic approach. There are so many stages and positions available that it could take more than a lifetime to memorize them all!

A much better approach is to gain an understanding of the different types of chords, how they are made, and which ones are the most essential to get you playing right away. With practice, your chord vocabulary will increase as your fretboard knowledge goes up. If you lay a good foundation for the basic chords, then you will be able to use colored and textured chords properly later on. Using this approach as you learn guitar quick will help you later on and simplify things a great deal.

There are 3 primary guitar chords: Major, Minor, and Dominant 7th. Every other guitar chord is a modification of one of these chords. If you can learn these 3 types, then you will be able to play thousands of songs.

Learn E minor & G Major

Let me show you a minor chord and a major chord so you can learn guitar quick.

learn guitar quick

These two chords are very easy and will help you to learn guitar quick. They are often used in songs together and you will notice that you can change from E minor to G Major without moving your first finger. There are a number of chords that you can do this with, and it is a good thing to learn as it will allow you to be quicker in your chord changes.

I want you to pay attention as you play. What difference do you notice between the minor and the major chord? This is a very important skill if you want to develop your ear. As a good musician you want to be able to distinguish the sound of one type of chord from another.

If you listen carefully you will notice that minor chords sound sad or dramatic while major chords sound positive and uplifting.

Learn A Dominant 7th Chord

Now let me show you a Dominant 7th Chord. Once again pay attention to how it sounds different to the other two chords.

learn guitar fast

You should find that if you take it slow at the start you will learn guitar quick. If you rush, then you will develop bad technique that will have to be unlearned later on. To prepare yourself to be the best musician possible, follow these tips as you practice.
  • Learn the chord positions by memory.
  • Play each chord slowly at first.
  • Pay attention to your fingers and how hard you press down.
  • You want the chord to sound clear and open, so make sure that you are not blocking any strings.
  • In this formative stage, practice your chords for a minute or two, then rest your fingers for 30 seconds, then practice the chords again. This will strengthen your fingers steadily and allow you to play for longer and longer.

You should definitely be able to learn guitar quick if you focus as you practice. Of course, make sure you enjoy yourself! Music is meant to be fun and if it's not, what point is there in playing it? If you enjoy yourself then you will be more motivated to practice, so you'll simply become a better guitarist.

Good luck! I hope you have awesome fun as you learn guitar quick!

Learn Guitar Quick | Jamorama Review Part 1

"Learn guitar quick", says Jamorama, the self-confessed complete guitar learning system.

Powerful words for an internet based guitar instruction program so I went to have a look for myself.
  • So What Do You Get With Jamorama?

The Jamorama program has 84 lessons which start at beginner and then logically progress to intermediate and then on to advanced. There are 3 .pdf eBooks (beginner, medium and advanced), plus 400 audio files, 84 video files (each for a lesson), as well as 16 jam tracks you can play with.

The entire program can be downloaded to your PC for easy access to each lesson, which I think is a big help to learn guitar quick. Instead of having to log into the site each time you want to get a lesson, you just need your computer.

Also to help you learn guitar quick is the well-structured content. It begins with the basics and then follows a logical progression as it gets more advanced creating a smooth feel. I noticed when I was looking for lessons that it was quick and easy; I didn't have to spend hours scanning pages, I could often find where I should be in less than a minute.

The program is noticeably designed to be user-friendly with easy navigation between lessons. However, one negative is that the audio and video files are not "hot linked" from the lesson itself; meaning you need to locate the audio and video files manually. Not really a big hassle though.

  • What About The Actual Content?

I was initially skeptical of the content having seen so many poorly presented 'learn guitar quick' programs but I was pleasantly surprised to find Jamorama of great quality.

Each topic is explained in detail and demonstrated with clear, high quality images and videos.

The videos for this program were of stand-out high quality; they really got me thinking that I could learn guitar quick.

They show the left and right hand simultaneously and also a fretboard diagram to show the left finger positions. There is one video to each lesson, giving a detailed explanation of what the lesson aims to teach you.

Learn Guitar Quick | Jamorama Review Part 3

  • Is Jamorama For Everyone?

Jamorama is most suited to beginners but this is in no way exclusive.

Beginners will benefit most from this guitar program and are the ones most likely to learn guitar quick, but I also recommend it to intermediate guitar players as it will strengthen their skills considerably.

If you are a strong advanced player then it might not help you as much, although I often have people telling me it filled in various 'gaps' in their ability.

The main thing Jamorama lacks is lead guitar techniques so if this is what you are looking for, do not get Jamorama. It is a great choice however, for those who want to learn the basics first and then layer on the lead techniques later.

I was generally surprised by the overall quality of Jamorama because the quality of most 'learn guitar quick' products is quite low. It's a great way to learn how to play and its cost is much less than what face-to-face lessons would be.

And if you don't like it, you've got a whole two months (60 days) to grab a refund.

You don't have much to lose.
