As an affiliate marketer, you should know that content is the most basic need that you have. With good quality content, you can start making money online while only working a few hours per week. You want to have so much content that your surfers will have to bookmark your site so that they come back to read what you have to say. Needless to say, "content is king".
The challenge is in coming up with all the content. Where do you find, write, summarize, or buy it for little or no money? Well, you actually have quite a few options here. There are many article directories and web site owners that will actually let you use their content as long as you give them credit for their work. If you are new and you have just joined your first web master affiliate program or if you are not very knowledgeable in a certain field, article directories or another website is where you should start.
Free resources are easy to find and will really help you kick-start your business and earn money faster than you otherwise would if you were to write everything by yourself. Of course you will have to write original content at some point, and then and the more you do the better your web site will be rated by search engines and your visitors.
Another way to add new content is by using Private Label Content articles or PLC. PLC generally refers to articles, e-books and manuals that are free for subscribers to use as they wish. There are a few restrictions, however: you cannot claim copyright to PLC, or submit it to article sites. The drawback of PLC is that unlike articles directories, you will have to pay a subscription fee.
PLC's have the very important advantage that you don't have to credit the original author (which always points to some other web site that can steal your prospective customers). With PLC's, you will probably get 10 to 40 new articles a month, depending on the market niche you are interested in. These articles can really get you going and make you money with the Internet marketing affiliate program you've joined.
Now you know how to get good content. Now, how do you use it? Outside of mailing lists for your marketing campaigns (this is another toolset which we'll cover at another time) you should post the articles you've purchased through PLC directly on your website. Update your site at least once a week and get as many backlinks (yet another toolset) as possible to your content.
