Great Apple Cake Recipe
Here is a recipe for a delicious made from scratch apple cake that I learned from a retired baker in Grundau, Germany. This is a wonderful cake for those occasions when you want a tasty cake which is not too sugary or sweet. Enjoy.
Apple Cake
4 Cups Raw Apples, Cored and Chopped
2 Cups Sugar
½ Cup Oil
2 Eggs Beaten
1 Cup Nuts
2 Teaspoons Vanilla
2 Cups Flour
2 Teaspoons Soda
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Salt
Mix apples and sugar in a large bowl and add oil, eggs, vanilla and nuts. Mix flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Add to the other mixture, Pour into a 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350º for 45-60 minutes.

- I also have this recipe in my collection, and it is by far the best fresh apple cake in the world. I make it often, using NH MacIntosh apples and half whole wheat flour. Almost as good as my #1 favorite, Hattie's Chocolate Cake - the Yummiest Chocolate Cake Ever. Faved this lens, and 5 *s to you!
