Getting Stage Property and Options Help

You can get immediate help on almost any stage property of option via the DataStage Designer help files.

Inside a stage properties form click on help or press F1. Find the bitmap of the stage and click on the Properties tab on the bitmap to go to the properties help page. There you should find short help on almost every property and option of that stage.

Use Annotations!

Annotations are a great way to document your ETL job within the job and help future developers understand what you did.

In this example the green annotation is a "Description Annotation" that shows the contents of the job description field. There can be just one of these for each job.
