Useful Spanish Resources for language lovers

This lens talks about useful spanish resources and how to say in Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, Happy Easter…in different languages!

Learning Spanish in the Classroom

I have taken two 10 week Spanish evening courses, Beginners and Beginners plus with Cactus Language Training in Brighton. Classes are fun, have no more than 8 students and are taught by native speakers. The good news is that they are now offering free iPod downloads with Spanish courses, which helps me to practise my language outside the classroom without paying any extra money.

What can be a better way of learning a language than with a native speaker teacher? I have tried learning in different ways - through iPods, books, CDs etc but was always difficult to push myself to learn in a disciplined way.

Here is what they say:

Cactus specialises in language training, helping over 15,000 people learn a new language every year. Our goal is to make language learning enjoyable and easy. With a wide range of learning options in more than 30 languages and 500 locations worldwide, at Cactus you can learn a language your way. Click here to know more about Cactus Language Training

I will be taking a week-long language holiday in Spain through them to improve my language by completely immersing in the culture and Spanish by living with a host family.

I found some other websites to be useful while practising my Spanish. I hope you find them useful too.

WordReference.com - English Spanish Dictionary - I have bookmarked this website, so that I can refer to it any time I want when I am stuck with words.

Google Translate Toolbar – I have installed Google
toolbar and use the translate button to translate any word to Spanish.

News papers – Reading newspaper is a great way of brushing
up the language. I try to read the folloing newspapers, very difficult to understand
at my level but I am hoping to imorove my language to understand them.
