Getting Children Involved in Community Service
Love is spending time with your best friend!
When we have a best friend, we like spending time with them, even if it means taking time to rest! Best friends enjoy spending time with each other. A best friend enjoys doing the same things that you do. That's why you became best friends. Love is giving your best friend a hug when he needs it!
Have you ever given someone a hug when they needed it? Everyone needs a hug when things get tough. It shows the other person that you care about their pain. Not everyone likes a hug, especially when you do not know them. Sometimes it is a good idea to ask the other person if they want a hug. Do not be offended if they do not want one. It may take time to get to know them before they accept your hug.
Love is sharing your favorite toy!
If you want to make friends with someone, try sharing something with them. If you share with your friend, he may share something with you. Love is enjoying the beach with your brother or sister!
Spending time with family is fun! Families spend time with each other because of love. How do you like to spend time with your family? Some like to spend time at amusement parks with family. Some like to have barbecues or birthday parties with the family. Whatever you like to do, some of the best times are spent with family and you will remember it for yearss to come.
Do you know someone who does not have a family to spend time with? Have you invited them to spend time with you and your family?
Love is sharing with someone you just met!
Sometimes people feel uncomfortable when they are around people they don't know. Sharing with someone who is new in your world shows the other person that you care. Then they feel like they have made a new friend! Love is God and God is love!
I John 4:7
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whovever does not love does not know God, because God is love." Love is treating others as you would want them to treat you.
"Love thy neighbor as thyself."
When you love someone, you want them to have the same things that you want. Love is giving a helping hand.
We all need help at some time in our lives. When we give a helping hand, we are letting people know that we care enough to help in time of need. When we give help, we will receive the help when we need it. Love is helping those who are less fortunate.
