Learning Toys - Helping Children Develop Their Mind
To begin with let us not assume buying your child a construction set will mean that he will become a builder. No, when you buy your child a learning toy such as a construction kit they, will have to learn how to follow instructions and use their imagination. With this will come experience and knowledge of joints, balancing and math concepts.
Learning toys are designed to make a child think, observe and solve problems. Buying your child a construction toy such as Zoob and Polydron toys will improve their higher level learning skill. Higher learning skills are problem solving, spatial reasoning and logic skills. However, research shows that no toy will work unless it is fun and enjoyable to play with.
It is best to give your child a range of different Learning toys, with since no single toy will be played with all the time. Having a range of toys will keep them engrossed, entertained, busy and motivated for longer. If you want to develop a specific area of your child's learning then there are plenty of toys and games that you can buy.
For example non-verbal reasoning is an important part of the eleven plus exam selection for Grammar schools in the UK. It is difficult to improve this by simply teaching it, this is best improved through playing spatial reasoning puzzles and toys. Higher level thinking skills such as non-verbal reasoning, problem solving, spatial reasoning and logic/strategy skills are best improved through active play with toys and games whilst young (under 7). Winomino and Camelot Junior are fantastic examples of how a puzzle toys can develop higher level thinking skills in children as young as 3 & 4.
So if you want to improve your child's intelligence then take the time to search on the internet for learning toys and electronic learning toys.
