Learn Internet Money-Making: Earn As You Go!
This lens compares two of the best options if you're just starting out. I've spent thousands of dollars and untold hours learning from the best and the worst, and I've landed on a couple that I highly recommend. You can't go wrong with either one; they have proven track records, and you will definitely generate recurring income streams if you do the lessons, step-by-step.
When I first looked at the curriculum of these programs, I felt excited and overwhelmed at the same time. It seemed like so much to add onto my already full life. But I knew that if I gained internet marketing knowledge, I would never have to worry about my ability to pay the mortgage and support my family, no matter what state the economy might be in.
Not only that, the prospect of financial freedom is a huge motivator once we realize it's truly possible.
And it's very possible to make enough money to cover the tuition, plus cut hours from a day job so there's time to learn this stuff. You simply become an affiliate of the online "university."
What I didn't realize at first was that it would be fun, too! Addictive, even! I mean, how cool is it to see money just show up automatically in your PayPal account? Once that starts happening, you just want to keep making it happen, more and more!

Review #1: Wealthy Affiliate University

Wealthy Affiliate is an Internet Marketing University where you will learn by interacting with online tools, guides, courses and with real people.
The site is run by two highly successful internet marketers, Kyle & Carson, who personally coach and mentor the students. Whether you are a beginner or advanced marketer, Wealthy Affiliate has resources for all levels.
They also have a very active forum worth thousands of dollars to anyone willing to read through the tips and techniques that have been posted.
NicheQ: Industry Niche Reports for Internet Marketers
One of the most time-consuming tasks is market research. I've taken marketing courses in top-notch business schools that didn't teach this part very well. So I just bumbled along, relying on what I could learn from keyword research. Then I downloaded a NicheQ report that focused on my niche ... and was blown away! It's the most thorough research I've seen anywhere! This alone is worth the monthly membership fee.
Site Rubix: Easy-To-Use Website Builder
Build your websites in just a few minutes without having to know anything about website programming. If you're just starting out, this is a great way to go. I found it limiting because I wanted more advanced e-commerce capabilities. But if you want to post a good, solid web page in minutes, this is a decent program.

Review #2: SiteBuildIt!

Ken Evoy's SiteBuildIt! has helped thousands of happy subscribers become successful over the years. It's a good, solid, all-around program with proven results.
SiteBuildIt! makes it easy for you to create your own website simply and easily, even if you have no technical knowledge at all. It analyzes which themes will be profitable. Even better, it helps you optimize the pages for the main search engines and teaches you how to promote your site effectively.
You get more than just a "site builder." You don't need to worry about looking for separate hosting, paying for a separate keyword research tool, handling site submissions, integrating autoresponders, etc., etc. See the full list of features here -- pick the most relevant ones for you and your reader.
Many functions are completely automated. You don't need to know anything upfront about building a Web site in order to succeed. The tedious, "under-the-hood" stuff is handled automatically so you can focus on other important business-building activities.
The Action Guide presents a step-by-step process, presented in both written and video formats. All you have to do is follow it. The most successful SBI! owners say "all they did was follow the Guide." They don't get sidetracked, or have to guess at what to do next.
Unlimited Customer Support, along with a friendly, help-and-be-helped set of e-business forums.
Internet Marketing Poll
What is Viral Marketing?
What is Affiliate Marketing...
... and How Does it Work?
Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts. It is an application of crowdsourcing.
The Affiliate Marketing industry has four core players at its heart: the Merchant (also known informally as 'Retailer' or 'Brand'), the Network, the Publisher (also known informally as 'the Affiliate') and the Customer. The market has grown sufficiently in complexity to warrant a secondary tier of players, including Affiliate Management Agencies, Super-Affiliates and Specialized Third Parties vendors.
Affiliate marketing overlaps with other Internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often use regular advertising methods. Those methods include organic search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, and in some sense display advertising. On the other hand, affiliates sometimes use less orthodox techniques, such as publishing reviews of products or services offered by a partner.
Affiliate marketing?using one website to drive traffic to another?is a form of online marketing, which is frequently overlooked by advertisers. While search engines, e-mail, and website syndication capture much of the attention of online retailers, affiliate marketing carries a much lower profile. Still, affiliates continue to play a significant role in e-retailers' marketing strategies.Guide to E-Commerce Technology, 2007-08 Edition by Internet Retailer

- Thanks so much for the rating and positive response to my first lens! I appreciate you taking the time to give feedback even though you're not focused on internet marketing right now. I've enjoyed a few of your lenses, too, and will keep checking to see what you're up to.

- Thanks for your comment, Norena! Yes, how many times have we heard about a new system or strategy that will "Change your life forever"? I've developed an allergic reaction to the guys who just promote each other's stuff without offering anything truly useful. The ones to learn from are those with a solid, proven, track record of just showing up every day and running their business without any fanfare.

- After being lost in the Internet jungle myself for many years, I'm pretty tired of all the hype and fluff the so called gurus throw at us. Both the programs that you review here are good products from good guys though. I especially like SiteBuildIt. You can't go wrong with a site built through them.

- I have been making slow and steady progress at learning internet marketing strictly on my own. I read articles on the web, etc, but being, well, BROKE, I haven't been able to afford to pay for a subscription site. It's disappointing, really, because I know that there is money to be made!
Right now I'm taking a break from IM in general so that I can focus on my family and other projects of my own, but I wanted you to know that I'm bookmarking this page for future reference.
Just one suggestion for you: If you find that people are looking for a "schemes to avoid" list, I would probably make that a separate lens rather than bringing the negative into this (very good) lens.
I'm giving you a 5* rating and I feel that it is deserved. You didn't use a lot of images in this lens but I do feel that your use of media and modules is very well put together! Great job!
