learn photoshop by watching (and doing)
photoshop is the most powerful image editing program on the planet...it is also less than intuitive in how it does what it does...looking over someone's shoulder (even if that shoulder is a virtual shoulder) can unlock much of the mystery that trying to read and understand the manual (or any of the dozens or so fine books available) just can't do...a moving picture in this case is worth many thousands of words...
I've used photoshop since 1989...in that time, almost everything has changed about the way photoshop is being used while the core of what photoshop was created to do remains true to its original mission...photoshop was created as a prepress tool to help graphic designers create files that could be used by commercial printers...that is still its primary function...however, and this is a BIG however, all sorts of artist are pushing and pulling to make photoshop much more...it is being used to create fine art, aid filmmakers, startle grandparents, entertain children, overwhelm parents, inspire game builders, and put some punch in the whole category of life simply known as the "make over"...and because photoshop was and still is a prepress tool, many of the ways it does what it does is only really understood by people in those industries...
...with that in mind, pull up a comfortable chair, grab your mouse, click recklessly and get ready to learn your socks off...and if it doesn't make sense the first time, hit the replay or check out one of the other videos...
