How to start Learning Sign Language at home
Learning Sign Language at Home is easier than ever these days. One of the problems a lot of people run into when learning any language is finding good material so they can practice on a consistent basis. Having material available is even more crucial when you are learning Sign Language at home, because you need to be able to see how the signs are formed. This is almost impossible when you are trying to learn from a book.
Learning Sign Language at home with DVD's is an excellent way to go. One, because you have a person who models the signs for you, and two, you can watch them over and over again until you get the signs down.

- Bingo! Practice and repitiion is the key. I hear that from so many people taking sign language. They felt they would never be able to learn a second language because it was so difficult, until they discovered sign language. I'm not surprised your two year old is so advanced, it is one of the amazing things that can happen when you teach sign language to children at a young age. The thing that does surprise me is that many schools have not jumped on this.
Keep doin what you're doin!

- Practice and Repetition is all takes! I've never been the type to pick up a second language, I tried with Spanish and failed....but it was totally different sign language. It came to me so easily. My two year old can sign over 300 words and he reads, writes and counts. Sign Language kids have higher IQ's than that of non signing kids. Great lens. I'm going to lensroll this one to:
