Hello, I'm Jimmy and I've been skateboarding for almost two years. First off I have to say that I have read many "Skateboarding Help" books, but this one has to be the best. It has very descriptive trick techniques which will help to learn those certain tricks along with many other helpful tips. The part that really blew me away though was the "secret techniques" section, which I'll go more into later.
The trick tips are extremely detailed, and guide you through each trick, step by step. What I really liked was that the explanations are crystal clear, and it uses a unique description system to teach tricks. One of the tricks I had been struggling with hardflips, and this guide helped me see where my problem was and I was finally able to land one!
The best part of Secrets of Skateboarding is definitely section 2, where the author teaches his personal techniques to learn tricks quickly. This part contained some of best ideas I have heard about. This section explains how to accomplish your goals and land new tricks in the fastest and easiest was possible using a bunch of different techniques. This was my personal favorite part of the book.
The only thing I didn't like about Secrets of Skateboarding is that it's just a guide and doesn't contain any video instructions. However, I later realized that I could just look on Youtube to find videos, and it was the raw information it contained which makes so useful. Also, the website claimed that all the tricks can be learned in 8 weeks. As a skater for 2 years, I have to disagree. lt'll speed up the learning process A LOT, but nothing can help you land every single trick within two months.
