How to learn spanish (or any foreign language) in 4 different ways!

This article focuses on the 4 best ways to learn spanish (or any other language!). There are many different ways that you can can start to learn a new language but i am only going to focus on the best 4 ways. In my opinion, all the other methods dont really work.

(These are in no particular order as all these methods work equally well- it just depends on the person)

1] You can get tutored by a spanish teacher

There are three main ways to do this 1] Get private 1 on 1 tuition (This method is good but VERY EXPENSIVE!)
2] Enroll in a language school and receive group tuition (still quite expensive)
3] Get online tuition from real teachers (Price varies greatly!)

Out of these 3 ways i would say that private 1 on 1 tuition is slightly better than the other two. However, 1 on one tuition (with a teacher coming to your home or you going to their place) is VERY EXPENSIVE, sometimes upto £100 an hour or more! This makes it out of reach of most peoples budget. A good alternative is to enroll in a language school/college. This can be much more affordable and can even work better for some people because of interaction with a group of fellow learners. Again this method can still be out of the question for some people as they dont want to travel to the campus for every lesson. In this case you could get online tuition. Using modern technology has made it possible to learn a new language from the comfort of your own p.c! Using things like skype and video you can now have real teachers giving you live lessons online! This method can be good but watchout for who you buy these lessons from- make sure you always check them out thoroughly for qualifications etc. Also this way of learning can still be very expensive!

2] You can buy a complete learn spanish course (either a downloadable product or physical product)

Out of the four methods i have listed here, this way of learning a new language is the most flexible in my opinion. This is because when you purchase these courses there is no set time that you have to go to lessons etc. (This leads to better retention of language because your learning it when you choose to!). Plus you can devote as much or as little time as you want to it. You could be fluent in less than 2 months or you could learn steadily over a year or maybe two! This, in my opinion, makes it the most accessible to the widest variety of people. It is a very affordable method to learn as you can get full courses (that take you through from beginner to advanced) from as little as £60! Learning to speak a language fluently for as little as that is a bargain! These courses contain everything you need- videos, audios, text lessons, language games, word games and much more.

3] You can throw yourself in at the deep end by moving to spain (or country of choice) and learn this way

This way of learning spanish is a very daunting proposition! For some people this is the BEST way possible to learn that new language, but for others it can be a very scary experience that can take months and months to get anywhere near like having decent conversation. How well this method works is all down to how quick you can pick new things up. Also, i believe that a major part in this is down to how confident you are within yourself- a confident person is much more likely to interact with the locals thus picking up the language MUCH quicker than a shy person would. So in all i would only go for this method if you are a confident person and up for a challenge!

4] You can gather as much information as possible from free sources (e.g online, library etc.)

Out of the four this method is definitely the hardest to implement and requires much more effort than the other three. But if you are willing to put the time and effort in you can get good results. It will only work for some people though. Generally i would not recommend this as your sole means of learning unless you are very disciplined. This is best to use as a supplement to any of the 3 methods listed above. Method 2 and 4 work particularly well together.

So there you have it- in my opinion, the only 4 good ways to learn a new language. Each method suits different types of people so if you are looking into learning a new language the best thing you can do is go over all 4. See what the benefits and downfalls are, then pick the one that is best for your style of learning AND your budget. Dont go spending thousands on private tuition if you cant afford it! Also, make sure you have fun while your learning and you will retain the language MUCH MUCH better. If you stick to these methods you will be speaking fluent spanish (or language of your choice) in no time at all! Have fun!
